Our Review Of The Safari Slicker Brush:
We were a little sceptical about the
Safari Slicker Brush after reading
some mixed reviews on the web about the problems of the cat
brush breaking after relatively little use. However, we were
keen to give the brush ago as the ability to retract the
brush's pins after grooming our cats seemed like a really neat
idea. Basically after you have finished grooming your cat you
press a button and the brush pins retract allowing you to
simply empty the hair in the bin. No more cat hair mess after
grooming sounded like a really impressive design
feature.
The cat brush arrived and upon opening
the box the grooming slicker brush looked solidly constructed.
We first tried it out on our short haired cat. the results were
a little disappointing. The steel pins of the slicker brush
were just too long for his coat and we felt that rather than
grooming our cat that we were really giving him a massage and
removing some dead skin. He really did not like being groomed
with the Safari Slicker Brush.
Next up was our long haired cat who has
always been a bit jumpy when it comes to grooming with cat
brushes. We found the brush a lot easier to use with a long
haired cat. We had used soft bristle brushes before but these
again gave more of a massage to our long haired cat than
removed dead hair from it's undercoat. The steel pins of the
brush really worked their magic and got deep into our cats fur
removing pieces of debris and dead fur from its undercoat. We
were very impressed with the results.
When it came to cleaning the cat brush it
was a very simple affair. You simply pushed the button and the
brush self cleaned itself leaving just a handful of fur and
debris to be put in the bin.
For best results with the
Safari Slicker Cat Brush we would
advise gently pulling the brush through your cat's fur in the
same direction as the hair growth.
Our Verdict:
 |
Great cat brush for long haired cats |
 |
We loved the self cleaning design which stops cat
hair from getting on the floor after grooming |
 |
The construction is solid and we can only imagine
the brush breaking under extreme strain |
 |
Not good for short haired cats, our cat really did
not enjoy the experience |
 |
Relatively cheap considering the self cleaning
feature |
